Funeral of 31 year old Mrs Maura Meehan - Maura and her sister Dorothy Maguire were the first members of Cumann na mBan, the Women's IRA, to die in the recent Troubles. They died in a disputed shooting incident involving a British Army patrol in the Lower Falls. They were allegedly sounding the car horn of a vehicle driven by William Patrick Davidson to warn local residents of the presence of soldiers. The soldiers claimed that a gun was pointed at them. 19711023042MM2.
