Ambulancemen take away the body of one of two policemen who were shot dead on 11th November 1971 by the Provisional IRA in an off-licence only 100 yards from Oldpark RUC Station in North Belfast. The police victims were later named as Constable Walter Moore, Londonderry, and Sergeant Dermot Hurley, originally from Wicklow in the Rep of Ireland. Sgt Hurley, a fluent Irish speaker, was the first Roman Catholic member of the RUC to be murdered in the Troubles. 19711110447c.
