Hugh Coney, aka George Coney, 24 years, single, from Coalisland, Co Tyrone, who was shot dead by soldiers as he attempted to escape from Long Kesh prison, N Ireland, on 24th November 1974. He was a Provisional IRA internee. In all 33 republicans were involved in the atttempted breakout. He was a well-known snooker player and Gaelic footballer.
