Constable Thomas J W Moore, aka Walter Moore, who was shot dead on 11th November 1971 by the Provisional IRA in an off-licence only 100 yards from Oldpark RUC Station in North Belfast. Sergeant Dermot Hurley, a fluent Irish speaker and a native of Co Wicklow, Rep of Ireland, also died in the shooting incident.
