William Elliott, head postmaster, Newry district, N Ireland, who was shot dead 24th March 1975 by the Provisional IRA when on a visit to Silverbridge sub-Post Office following a weekend break-in. Mr Elliott was accompanied by a colleague who was only slightly injured in the gun attack.
