John Francis Green, Roman Catholic, originally from Lurgan, Co Armagh, N Ireland, who was shot dead on 10th January 1975 in the home of an elderly republican sympathiser near Castleblaney, Co Monaghan. At the time Green, member, Provisional IRA, was on the run having escaped from Long Kesh prison two years earlier. His brother, a priest, had gone to Long Kest prison to say Mass and was overpowered. Green walked out of the prison wearing his clerical garb.
