A Provisional IRA bomb went off in this 3 carriage railcar which served passengers travelling between Belfast and Portadown. There had been a bomb warning before it travelled to Portadown. A search revealed nothing. It was only after it made the return journey to Belfast and passengers had disembarked that the bomb exploded. There were no injuries in the railway station but 7 people were injured in the adjacent bus station. 11th October 1973. On the same day there a second explosion rocked the old Midland Railway Station in York Street. A third explosion occured on a train at Marino Halt on the Belfast-Bangor line. 197310110634<br />
