William Francis Hughes, shot dead by the Provisional IRA who thought they were firing at a police vehicle parked outside the Roman Catholic Parochial House at Moorstown, Coagh, Co Tyrone. Mr Hughes daughter was also in the car. Although injured she survived the shooting. A Coalisland man, Seamus Dillon, who was convicted of the murder of Mr Hughes, ten years later was himself murdered by loyalists. The shooting occured on 22nd May 1972. 197205220311.<br />
