The mangled remains of a pram and a child's bike at the railings outside St John the Baptist school on Finaghy Road North, Belfast, where the three Maguire children died or were fatally injured on 10th August 1976. The incident occured when British soldiers fired on the car and fatally wounded the driver, Provisional IRA volunteer, Danny Lennon, 23 years, causing the vehicle to go out of control and mount the footpath. Joanne Maguire, 8 years, and her brother, Andrew Maguire, 6 weeks, were killed instantly. John Maguire, 2 years, died the following day. Their mother, Anne Maguire, never fully recovered and took her own life on 21st January 1980. The children's deaths triggered the formation of the Peace People movement. 197608100362. <br />
