An eerie calm prevails in the deserted streets of the Bogside and Creggan part of Londonderry, N Ireland, during the British Army's Operation Motorman when thousands of soldiers and hundreds of vehicles invaded the area to retake the "no-go areas" controlled by Irish republican paramilitaries.
